These are supported by a network of student services and faculty with the commitment of being a model of excellence.

The Educator Preparation Program (EPP) is part of the Education and Physical Education Department at the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla. Since August 2023, our department offers two bachelor’s degrees which are:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education
  • Bachelor of Arts in Education with Concentration in English with Multimedia Technology K-12

Our program is committed to the preparation of future highly qualified teachers, with solid knowledge in general education and in the principles, concepts and processes of the discipline they intend to teach. Teacher candidates will have opportunities to develop competence in the appropriate use of instructional strategies, integrating technology as a creative tool for effective learning.

The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) is a professional accreditor because it reviews the excellence of departments, schools, and colleges that prepares teachers and other educators. CAEP makes sure that educator programs prepare new teachers to know their subjects, their students, and have the clinical training that allows them to enter the classroom ready to teach effectively. In addition, CAEP accreditation provides that allows educator preparation programs to continually self-assess and conduct evidence-based analysis of their programs and their efficacy. CAEP accreditation assures quality and supports continuous improvement to strengthen K-12 student learning in the educator preparation program.
